"Supernatural" questions!
I know I don't have that many "Supernatural" fans on my FL, but I have a fair few. :) and I'm looking for some info from a varied group across the country.
last week, I watched the episode ("The Third Man") live on tv on Friday night. I do not have tivo/dvr, so I watch all commercials and such. I saw the preview for the next week's (this past Friday's episode), and thought, that's interesting! Carol and I even discussed the preview at work on Monday.
during the week, I never got a chance to finish reading the recap of "The Third Man" at my favorite snarky site. I only got halfway through it.
on this past Friday night, I was at UofL's home football game, so I missed watching "Supernatual" live. I figured if I could find it, I'd watch it online.
after work on Saturday, I finally got a chance to finish reading the recap of "The Third Man". the recapper included a recap of the preview, like he usually does. only the preview he recapped (a Bobby-centric episode) is NOT the preview I saw. I'm 99% sure this recapper lives in Chicago, or at least he did 3 years ago.
so I went on to the forums to see what people might have said about the ep from Friday night. and the ep they were describing matched the preview the recapper had mentioned. a Bobby episode.
I went to the CW site, and the last new ep they have posted is "The Third Man". the preview they're showing is for the Bobby episode, and the little ad for next week is still NOT the preview I saw.
so my questions are 2.
1) where you live, what preview did you see after "The Third Man"?
2) where you live, what episode aired this last Friday night? was it a Bobby-centric episode?
I'm wondering if this different-preview-airing thing was regional. I swear I didn't dream the preview I saw. like I said, Carol and I discussed it at work. it's got me baffled. now I'm just confused about what aired and where.
ETA: I haven't mentioned what the preview I saw was, only because I know some people don't like spoilers. so if I saw something I wasn't supposed to, I don't want to ruin things out in the open for those who don't want to know. if you do want to know, I'll update in the comments. :)

I can honestly say that I have no idea if the preview I saw said "soon" or not. I was crocheting at the time, so I didn't look up until the preview started. so I missed any writing at was on the screen.
I do know that the scenes in the preview I saw appeared to all be from the same episode. and I say that only because they all appeared to have to do with the same 'case'. also, I've read enough online to know what happened in the Bobby-centric ep, and I don't remember any scenes that would appear to be from that ep. and I really don't remember any scenes that would be from the next episode they're advertising on the CW site.
curiouser and curiouser. would you be willing to share your dvr's descriptions for the upcoming eps?
since I was thinking I'd watch Friday's ep this weekend (if it had been up online), I didn't ask Carol anything about it at work on Saturday. I assume the Bobby-centric ep aired here as well. I'll have to talk to her in the morning.

Like Tig says, Supernatural does "Soon" stuff on a fairly regular basis and has for years. It usually shows scenes from the three upcoming episodes. Many times this is done after a "stand alone" episode to ensure the audience KNOWS that the storylines they are dying to know more about will be addressed and soon. I'm betting that's what you saw.
