I know I said this a few months ago. that I was SO far behind on posting my crochet projects. well, now I'm even further behind. good job, me!
so I'm posting again. here is a project I particularly love. a blanket I made for
supashoppa!
when Teresita moved, she gave me a skein of Blueberry Pie yarn that she had been teaching herself to knit with. I decided to crochet her something using that yarn. I paired it with Lavender and Soft White, and picked a pattern that I thought would be an awesome blanket.
it wasn't long before I figured out a few errors in the pattern. 1st, I plotted out on a paper the proper order the colors should be in, and discovered that the pattern was wrong. I corrected it, and moved on. next was the amount of yarn it said was required to complete the pattern. it's WAY off. even the correction at the website is in still incorrect. these two errors are on the website if you dig hard enough to find them. but this 3rd one isn't. I used a slightly bigger hook than the pattern called for (K instead of H), but the blanket turned out drastically bigger! I know part of that has to do with the hook size, but the pattern says it should be 67inches square and it ended up 84inches square (7feet!). that's just off. but I love how big it is, so I don't mind.
it's one of my favorite projects I've ever made. :) it turned out so pretty! and like the previous XL-sized blanket I made, it should have taken me WAY longer to make. it took me a little over 2 months which was kinda quick, I think. and it's so warm! I made it last summer, and I can't tell you how many nights I fell asleep working on it. I woke up burning up a lot!

a few people at work tried to take it when I brought it in to show them. lol.
