Jun. 16th, 2009 11:09 pmso just logged-in to my website to find that geocities will be closing later this year. no dates are given. they just say they'll give us more information later, especially about how to save all the files on the sites. they do talk about switching to yahoo's "award winning" webservice if we want, and they offer the link. yahoo's is $4.95 a month for the 1st year (full year charged all at once), then $9.95 a month after that.
I don't mind paying for my site, 'cause no ads and good stuff like that. but I don't want to pay $9.95 a month. unfortunately I don't presently write enough to make it worth it, as much as I want to keep my site so I can post my fics how I want to.
so any suggestions of webservices that are around $4.95 a month? that's what I'm paying now, so I'd rather stick with something around that amount. thanks.

orionpower2001, we might want to look into moving the prnsvs somewhere since its site will be disappearing. (they say yahoo will not be offering any free webservice.)
-- guess the old Oliverette site will finally be going down as well. Julia lost the password ages ago, so it's been stuck in the current mode for years. so I guess it's just as well.
