(no subject)
Aug. 31st, 2010 11:08 pmdamn, it's fuckin' hot in this room. I haven't complained about the heat on my journal yet this summer, so I thought I'd mention it. lol. my upstairs only has one air conditioning/heating vent, and no circulation. so it's way too hot up here right now. especially with a laptop.
so PMC did a lot of great things, like spread inspiration through lots of fanfic writers. to start writing again, to update long-neglected series, to finally get around to those plot ideas that had been forgotten. and in my case, I was inspired to write again, but also to get my website running again.
my site has been down since geocities went extinct months ago. since I have a paid site, it was allowed to carry over. but all of my links -- every story, picture, background, everything -- is now broken. so I took the site down and put a placeholder index page up. and I've been rather uninspired to get it active again, especially since I haven't been writing.
but I got home very late last night, and logged-in to my site this morning to see what I could do.
damn, this is going to take forever. if I make any change at all to any html file, it centers the entire page. now, I admit my html is self-taught and I'm not an expert, but there was NOTHING on these pages that should have made everything centered. I even tried starting a new file for a story, and it centered that too. the only way I could find to NOT have things centered is to replace all of my normal "p" with "p align=left", which is a pain in the ass. oh well. guess is what I get for html'ing by hand.
anyway, it's slow going, but it is moving. so far "Drunk Horses" is done, and I'm nearly done with the other "XGames" stories. (I got completely distracted this morning by reading the ENTIRE series when![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
starandrea posted that handy link to it on her site.) I'm going to make it a point to update here as I get things fixed. it will motivate me both ways; 1) to update here more, and 2) to stick with this site fixing.
fuck, it's hot. time to turn off the laptop. maybe I can actually sleep tonight.
btw, I had completely missed the line on one ofstarandrea's PMC entries where she said I never slept. I saw it today and LOL'd a lot.
(ps -- I can't figure out how to make the little DW guy appear on LJ instead of the little LJ guy. I "viewed source" and tried what others are doing, but it still didn't work. I think I'm missing something. oh well.)
